Before Your Surgery
If you fail to follow these instructions, your surgery may be cancelled or rescheduled.
A nurse from our center will contact you to discuss:
- pre-op considerations/instructions
- your medical history
- arrival time
- food, drink and medication restrictions
Occasionally an appointment with your primary care physician is necessary to perform a physical examination prior to your procedure. Your physician will notify you well in advance if any lab work, EKG, or doctors appointments are needed.
- Stop taking aspirin and any vitamins or herbal medications 14 days before surgery
- Stop taking ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) two days before surgery
- This is a great time to quit smoking. Your recovery and healing will be improved.
